Bank Name Does Not Match Squads Name

When attempting a withdrawal, if you get a message stating that your “Bank Name Does Not Match Squads Name.” This error appears when the name on your bank account does not match the name on your verified Squads account.


For security reasons, withdrawals can only be processed to a bank account that matches the exact name you verified with. This measure protects your funds, prevents fraud, and ensures compliance with KYC/AML regulations.

You may encounter this error for any of the following reasons:

1. Your bank account shows your full legal name, but your Squads name is misspelled due to your KYC document.

2. Your Squads account was verified with a different name.

3. Your government ID details differ from your bank’s records.

How to Resolve the Issue

1. Confirm Your Verified Squads Name Based on Your KYC Document

2. Check the Name on Your Bank Account

Ensure the name displayed by your bank is the same as your verified Squads name.
Even small differences, extra initials, apostrophe, or missing letters, can cause a mismatch.

3. Update Your Squads Name (If Needed)

If your Squads name is incorrect or incomplete, contact Support with:

  • A clear photo of your valid ID (NIN or BVN details)

  • Your correct legal name

  • A request to update your profile name

  • A recent receipt of a deposit you made into Squads with your full name arrangement

4. Update Your Bank Account Name (If Needed)

If your bank account name is incorrect or outdated, visit your bank to correct it.
Once updated, retry the withdrawal.

5. Retry Your Withdrawal
