Understand Terms on Squads

Here, we explain some terms we use on Squads

Updated over 3 months ago

To help you navigate the exciting world of Squads Daily Fantasy Sport (DSF), here's a brief guide to some of the key terms you’ll encounter. Understanding these terms will enhance your experience and ensure you make the most of your time on Squads.

Pick:

A Pick refers to the individual player you select for your lineup. Each player you choose represents a specific prediction about their performance in a particular game or event. For example, if you pick Lisandro Martinez to make more than 2 tackles, Lisandro Martinez is your pick.

Entry/Lineup:

An Entry or Lineup is the collection of all the players you’ve picked. When you create an Entry, you're assembling a team of 2 to 12 players based on your predictions. Each Entry is submitted with an entry fee, and depending on how accurate your predictions are, you stand a chance to win a payout.

Category:

The category refers to the specific stats area you're making a prediction about. This could include fouls, shots on target, shots assisted, tackles, passes, and more, depending on the sport. To learn about their definitions, kindly refer to the link.

Market:

The Market is the homepage of the Squads DSF platform. It’s the place where you can see all available players and their projected stats for upcoming games. The Market is updated regularly to provide you with the stats categories and projections when selecting your picks.

Entry ID:

Each Entry you create is assigned a unique identifier known as the Entry ID. Whether you’ve created one lineup or several, the Entry ID ensures that each one is distinct and easily identifiable. You can refer to the Entry ID when reviewing your entries or checking results.

To illustrate these terms, let’s walk through a quick example:

1. Pick: You select Lionel Messi as one of your picks.

2. Entry/Lineup: Your Entry includes Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, and David De Gea, with predictions on their stats.

3. Category: For each pick, you select the passes, shots on targets and Saves category respectively.

4. Market: You visit the Market to find and review projected stats for all available players before finalising your picks.

5. Entry ID: After submitting your lineup, you receive an Entry ID which you can use to track your entry’s performance.

Understanding these terms will help you make the most of your Squads DSF experience, giving you the confidence to create winning lineups and enjoy the thrill of the game. So dive in, make your picks, and may your predictions lead you to victory!
